I used to go to Johnny's shows in the early 80's, and when I saw him, he
would always come on really late, around midnight, dressed like a Keith Richards
type, very elegant, very decorative, a true artiste, and I think he was the
innovator of that style, usually in moccasins, and he was a very magical,
transcendental presence, and I was always taken by how small and impish he was.
He played like an angel, a really moving blues guitar with alot of soul.
